Objectives of the General Meeting

    1. to be enriching days of encounter of participants and the institutes that they represent

    2. to establish ACSI as a formal body recognized by the Church

    Keynote Address : “Be Faithful to Your Specific Vocation” by Dr. Emilio Tresalti

    Emcee and introduction of the keynote speaker: Ms. Mary Paul

    Inaugural Mass:  presided  by the Most Reverend Francis Xavier Kriengsak Kovithavanij, Archbishop of Bangkok

      concelebrants: Fr. Miguel Garaizabal,SJ., Fr.Francis Carvalho and

      Fr.Thatsanu Hattakarnkul , director of biblical apostolate of  archdiocese of Bangkok

    The opening mass was prepared by Satira Soares and her companion- participants Caritas Christ members

    Group picture taking with the Archbishop followed after the mass outside St .Michael Chapel, near  the lake.

    evening; Cultural recreation night hosted by Mr. Frederick Perez and Ms. Jennifer Callanan a presentation of songs, dances and life stories by each country group  followed by exchange of gifts.

pm:  outing with packed snacks to  Chedi temple & Blessed Nicholas Shrine

Fr. Prateep Kiratipong, director of St. Joseph Minor Seminary, Archdiocese of Bangkok, generously lent the seminary bus and its driver for the ACSI  participants’ afternoon outing.

Fr. Eakkachai, rector of blessed Nicholas Shrine, with some women lay leaders  welcomed warmly the ACSI participants. he gave a short historical contextualization before the viewing of the video presentation on the life of the Blessed.

Fr. Joseph Likhittham, a Thai retired priest, presided the mass at the shrine, with Fr. Francis Carvalho  concelebrating.

The mass was prepared by the members of the Oblate Missionaries of Mary Immaculate from Thailand and the Daughters of Queenship of Mary Immaculate members. Sangiem Sonrak acted as he point person.

evening: declared free session for all were tired.

Note: Sr. Mary Walter Santer, osu, executive Secretary of the FABC office for Consecrated Life, Bangkok, came to Baan Phu Waan for an  encounter with  the ACSI participants  in the morning of December 28  and December 29.

  • Finalization of the Articles of the ACSI Statutes to be revised as called for in the letter dated December 2007 of Sr. Enrica Rosanna, FMA, Undersecretary of the Congregation of Consecrated Life and Society of Apostolic Life.
    • These articles are as follows:
             Article 1d, Article 6 a, Article 9 and Article 13.

  • Changes in Articles 2,6, 8 & 10  were also considered.
  • Treasurer’s Report:  balance as of December 30, 2010:  US D 14,099.
  • Election of the Executive Board: Dr. Ivan Netto- Christ the King, India, Ms. Satira Soares, Caritas Christi, India, Ms. Naoko Ozawa, Sei Maria Zaisoku Kai, Japan, Ms. Maria Almonte- Notre Dame de Vie, Philippines, Ms. Leonor Luna- Associates of Notre Dame, Philippines.

The General  Assembly members requested Dr. Emilio Tresalti to continue being ACSI’s adviser. He accepted generously the request.

The  concluding Mass was presided by Fr. Miguel Garaizabal, SJ. In his homily, he presented Anna as  model of a secular institute member.

At the end of the mass, the participants, observers, keynote speaker, translator & event coordinator  lined up at the aisle of the St. Michael Chapel. The two persons  facing one another blessed each other and exchanged nametags, symbol of pledge of praying for her/him  in the next four years.

The mass was prepared by the participants from the Philippines with Ms. Lucina Margie Recio and Ms. Ma. Concepcion Gonzales as point persons.

Different  group picture taking was done after the mass, then followed the hearty lunch at the dining room of Baan Phu Waan.

Departure began at 1:30 pm, December 30, 2010.
